I am so sad.

My macbook crashed. Finder and Dock quits unexpectedly at startup. There's nothing I can do to relaunch them. I'm at the risk of losing all my data from Semester 2. Major heart ache :( I'm so used to my macbook that I guess I've taken it for granted. It is almost my life source; now I realise I cant do without it. It must have been karma because I was telling Pei Wen and Cherye how I wanted to change to a macbookpro just yesterday morning, and then it died on me at night. But thank goodness (in a way), it crashed only after my final final final presentation. Spoon for 3D. I also realised that I might have accidentally thrown away my entire macbook box with all the nitty grittys (cds, wires, documents) inside during my home renovation. So chances of salvaging it is so much slimmer. I am an idiot, really.

School's out. There's this sad, lonely, reluctant feeling. When everyone walked separate ways after 3D presentation yesterday, there was this sudden pang of emptiness. I'll miss everyone from school. No more Ina, Gilles, James, BMW, Lucy, XTOH. No more G5. No more animation, photog, film, product classmates. No more CMYK khakis. No more projects to rush like a mad dog, deadlines to meet, braindrains from inspiration; not at least for these next 3 months. No more open lab hotbake vending-machined sandwiches at 3am. No more S3.1 nights with McDeliveries. No more visiting S3.1 open lab residents. No more S3.1! (Oh my, I am so going to miss that creepy place with perpetually faulty lights.)

No more hall. It was dreadful saying goodbye to Eileen as my roomie for the very last time. And looking back at the empty, vacated, sad room as I saw it just a year ago. Packing things and unearthing stuff that I had kept hidden away reminded me of so many things - all the craziness, good and bad, that happened to me during this past academic year. I've laughed so hard I cried, and cried so hard I laughed in that little room; it has seen the best and worst of me. And ohmygod, now I know I have hell lot of clothes.

I think I feel sadder than when I was leaving any other school previously. Ironically it's only 1/4 of my uni years here and I'm feeling so much for school life. I guess it's because I'm perpetually living in Hall One, ADM and S3.1, so it's more like my home than my actual home home. And I've spent a lot more time with my ADM friends than my own family especially during Sem 2, so much so that I know a lot more about their lives than my own sisters' or parents'. I've never been more distanced from my sisters in my 20 years, I'm guilty.

August 2008 to April 2009 - I've grown and changed and learnt and experienced so much more.  Surely a darn memorable ADM foundation year. I've survived it, hated it and loved it all the same.

Happy summer vacation everyone.

After more than twelve hours straight of breathing in styrofoam gas, itching from sawdust, sniffing white glue, emulsion paint and spray paint, cutting and drilling and screwing, it is time to head back to hall. I will really miss all these late nights and crazy antics of ADM foundation year, my humble Hall One room and definitely S3.1.

We're all gonna die very soon.

The weather.

It was wet and gloomy just a couple of weeks ago. Rained non-stop like some depressing British city. Then recently, it has been so hot like some sweltering furnace. So hot you can melt and immediately start rotting in the sun. And then in the nights, you get super big howling winds and hear the smashing of glasses, trees almost being blown off their rooted soils and threateningly red angry skies. Just like now.

Then hail storms in Singapore, every other month reporting horrendous natural disasters? What next? An apocalypse, I'm sure.

Nature will suddenly have had enough and turn its back on us. Lo and behold, it is coincidentally Earth Day today.

Just like in "Knowing".

Okay, I'm utterly freaked out and depressed now.

We're all gonna die.

Pretty awesome movie, I was so shaken I cried. It's a disturbing combination of sci-fi + horror + thriller + suspense + end-of-the-world apocalypse movie so in a way it is like the Sixth Sense + The Village + Beautiful Mind + Day After Tomorrow. Watch it at the theatres - some pretty rad effects. Freakayyyy.

I added the score buttons at the end of every blog post, so that people like you and me can rate my entries. Works just like the facebook "You like this". 'Cept that this is anonymous, so anyone can sabotage. Just trying it out cos I'm just too bored to study for COM204. Not that there's anything to mug about. All the best for exams fellow university people!

Japanese film, still showing in cinemas. Deals with death and filial piety. Highly recommended to watch.

Really interesting and emotional film, made me cry heart-wrenchingly again and again. Felt good for the (much-needed) release of emotions. Shit, I'm gonna have swollen puffy eyes tomorrow.

And, lately, everything I do has been dealing with death or belief in afterlife. Why.

Good Friday to everyone. This day, Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

Oh and I'm dead tired, off to bed now. Bye.

Amidst all the projects and crappy pseudo studying, I managed to literally "sweep the graves" for all my ancestors this year. It's been really a long time since I went during the Qing Ming period, since my parents mostly choose the weekdays to pay respects, to beat the crowd and traffic jams. But going there is somehow peaceful and soul-cleansing. Hahah.

Apparently, this year, some creative person decided to add some colour to his or her ancestor's not-so-alive life and stuck a windmill on the grass on the tomb, and from then a trend was born: every few rows away pops another cute windmill happily and ignorantly spinning away in the wind. It kinda diverts the whole gloomy, quiet, solemn graveyard feel to something that embraces death as part of life, and bringing cheer to the people as they come back to pay respects.

Which makes me feel like going back to the Kranji War Memorial, a cemetry honouring WW2 soldiers, as its just so beautiful and peaceful, I feel like I'm in heaven.

Pretty cool movie trailer, though it really takes your attention off the actual content of the movie.
